Trailer Tow Wire Harness Kit for 2006-2007 Commander XK
Custom fit to Chrysler wiring specifications. Mopar wire connectors for the Jeep Commander minimize the need for wire splicing and feature a protective wrapping that guards against weather and abrasion. Feature high quality connectors, and relays as necessary.
Trailer Tow Wire Harness Kit, with 7-way round OR 4-way flat round trailer connector, plugs directly into the vehicle wiring, no splicing required, may need dealer scan tool to activate.
Will work only with 2007 Jeep Commander equipped with 4WD and 4.7L or 5.7L engine only. Will work with all 2006 Jeep Commanders.

Easy install - click and go

I ordered this because it was designed by Chrysler to fit my Commander. Turns out it more than fit - it even had heat protection (foil material) wrapped around it right where it came close to hot parts under the vehicle. Instructions were easy to follow. Very convenient to have all hardware, fuses, and attaching parts included in the kit. Installation tip: allow yourself time to visit a dealer to set your vehicle's computer to recognize the kit. I had power but did not have lights until I visited the dealer. Was charged for 1/2 hour of labor ($40).
ProsNo splicing, cutting, or guess work. All necessary parts included.
ConsHad to visit dealer to activate lights. Vehicle lights worked, but trailer lights did not. Dealer took 5 minutes to reconfigure on board computer to recognize trailer lights. This is more of a vehicle issue than a wire harness issue, so I did not deduct a star.

Excellent kit

This kit was just what I needed for my 2006 Commander Limited. I added a hitch and for some reason Commanders don't come pre-wired for 7 way plugs. I had a local shop that specializes in hitches to do the installation. As the other reviewer said you will still need to bring your truck to the dealer so the can re-set the computer to recognize the new 7-point wiring. My dealer charged $75 for that. Super fast shipping.
