This was a great buy, nice to have security for your engine. Got here fast easy to install, only thing is the instructions are for different models there was an additional step but my Jeep did not need the part, that was not included. I looked for 20 minutes to realize it was not part of my jl. Other than that worth every penny.

I am out the retail price because this is a complicated assembly with poor Mopar directions. I was able to key the cylinder okay but ran into issue getting the lock assembly correctly connected to the latching mechanism and now have no confidence the unit would not result in an eventual costly lockout. I instead ordered and easily installed the Bolt version, also keyed to match ignition, and wish I had just opted for that from the start in lieu convincing myself only OEM was good. Lesson learned, wasted almost $200. My issue is with the product, Just For Jeeps is awesome.

It is as advertised, genuine Mopar JL hood lock, not only did it fit and worked perfectly it shipped the very same day I ordered it and a very very fair price too.

Great peace of mind knowing no one can get under the hood

Not as difficult to install as you might think.

Really well made. The keying process is simple and for me personally, enjoyable. I used bolts instead of the included rivets and it is absolutely rock solid. Works exactly the way that it should. I was worried about having things from my engine compartment stolen as I often street park in NYC, so a hood lock and gas cap lock was necessary for peace of mind.

Lock is great, sleek looking, and secure.

We keyed the lock ourselves with a video tutorial online. It took a little while, but was a fun puzzle and we didn't need to take it to a dealership.

The only issue we ran into was having the right tool. You need a larger riveter with a long handle. It's a must.

Great secure lock

With lots of expensive parts under the hood of the JL, this should have been installed at the factory, but it's a very easy to install add-on. Well-engineered and designed, and looks factory-installed when complete. Don't be intimidated by keying the lock cylinder- it's very easy to do yourself following any one of the great videos on the web. Not that you will need a long-handled rivet setter- a handheld setter willl not work well for the size of rivets

This works as advertised. Keying it to my Jeep key was easy by following a youtube video. You don't need to take it to the dealer for the keying. You need a rivet punch tool or rivet gun that supports 1/4" rivets. This was hard to find in local stores, but I found one at Harbor Freight finally, and also they are available online.I bought this for a 2020 Gladiator. It was compatible in every way EXCEPT for the cutout plastic grill guard piece, which is a tiny bit smaller and has a different pattern for the JL, which this product is made for, so I just cut out a hole of my original grate piece with a dremmel tool, and it looks just fine.It sticks out a tiny bit and definitely interrupts the clean Jeep grill look, but it's worth it to be able to lock the hood down.
