The Sunrider allows you to soak up the sun without having to remove the clunky freedom panels every time. This item fits both the 2 door and 4 door Wrangler models. Choose from either material listed below.
Standard Black Diamond Fabric - 52452-35: Sale Price $749.99
Premium Twill Fabric - 52454-17: Sale Price $899.99
Black Diamond: A durable, black vinyl fabric, constructed with a polyurethane-based material. It is the same material as standard fabric soft-tops from Mopar.
Twill: A heavy-duty, deep black, burlap fabric similar to sail cloth material. It is the same material as premium fabric soft tops from Mopar.

Best After-Market Purchase

I have been using the Sunrider for two months and I love it. My only complaint about having a Jeep (this is my fourth) was not having an easily retractible sunroof. Now, I have it. It takes about an hour to install but it's fantastic once it's on.
ProsEasy to use, opens and locks simply
ConsIt can be a little loud on a freeway doing 70+ but that's not much different than any sun/moon roof

I was hesitant to spend money on something that I didn’t think that I needed, but this is worth it. I can open the roof on a dime without having to deal with the freedom tops. Much less find a place to put them as they take up a lot of space in the back. Especially when you go on trips with kids and a large dog. If you are on the fence with this, you won’t regret it. Quality is top notch and very little added road noise.
ProsGreat quality and looks good closed.
ConsI will say that I do like the cleaner look of the freedom tops off vs the folded top sticking up with the bestop. But still worth it.

All I can say is, just buy a Bestop Sunrider.
There's no removing and storing panels when you want to go topless so you'll use it frequently.
It's VERY easy to operate.
I keep open when traveling 55 mph or less then I close it to get on the highway (at a stop light for safety reasons) then I open it after I get off my exit.
I have the premium twill and It's quiet on the highway.
It's more awesome than you'd ever imagine.
It was nice doing business with JustForJeeps.com.
Delivery as promised at a good price.
I'll be back.

Easy to install, easy to raise and lower.
Very convenient compared to freedom panels
Remember to latch it every time you close it.
If you don’t, it will blow open and make a large crashing noise when you least suspect it.

This is a pricey option, especially if you are like me a retired dude on a fixed income. I though about it for a long time before I pulled the trigger. But with JustForJeeps running a sale and my military discount, and a rebate from Bestop I was able to get the price down from crazy expensive to just very expensive. But.....This is a high quality piece. I fits tight and does not leak. Road noise is really not a factor with it as it is really not much noisier than the hardtop. It is so easy to open and close it is crazy. If you have a hardtop on your jeep, you really need this.... It is a little harder to install and take a lot longer than they would lead you to believe.

ConsVery expensive. Takes a lot longer and is harder to install than they lead you to believe. The installation instructions that come with it are not very good and the installation pictures are horrible. Does make some flapping noise on the highway when it is folded back.

I mean, the freedom panels are nice, but pretty cumbersome. The Sunrider is perfect! Installation was a snap (although I think if I did it all over, I would assemble the unit OFF the Jeep, then bolt it down, like in some of the online vids...). Only down side I can see is that I will have to disassemble it should I decide to remove the hard top.

If you don't have a garage it was so annoying to enjoy my Jeep without a roof! THIS is the answer! I can flip my sunroof off anytime I want! Even if it starts raining I can close my roof with such ease!, worth every penny!,

There Bestop Sunrider for my 2018 Rubicon JLU looks and works great, just as advertised. Now I finally have the top open for those short rides where I normally had no choice but to leave the freedom tops in place. It's seals well and seems perfectly waterproof. As far as more road noise, I really don't see much difference. I chose the twill material, it is really nice quality.Betsop gets an AAAA+++ from me. I live in HI and the ordered and paid on-line but the ordering system did NOT charge me correctly. Bestop could have charged me more (a lot more) or cancel the order, but instead stepped up to the plate, ate the extra shipping costs and sent me the top. I would call that outstanding customer service and they now have a customer for life. Thank you Bestop!

Perfect Addition to a Jeep JL Hardtop

Almost all agree that the JL's hard top and soft top are improvements over the JK. But as easy as it is to remove the hard top's "freedom panels," this Sunrider is a quantum improvement. You can literally put it up or down at a stop light without exiting your Jeep (I did it twice today). While adding just a little more noise than the standard hard top, it provides tremendous versatility. No need to schlep those panels around with you in the back or worry about leaving your Jeep so exposed when parked outside a store. It goes up or down in literally seconds and delivers all the open air fun that Jeeps are known for. I got the twill version, which is solid and goes on easily. Couldn't recommend it more highly.
