Trailer Hitch Receiver for 2014-2021 Cherokee KL
Owners of 2014-2021 Jeep KL Cherokee models who want to use their vehicle for towing simply need to install a trailer hitch as the lower fascia has been designed to accommodate the hitch. The Mopar hitch receiver for this vehicle, item # 82213349AD (Replaces Item # 82213349AB and 82213349AC), has been designed as a one-piece welded assembly for increased strength over multiple-piece designs. The hitch is covered with a two-layered, E-coated paint finish to resist rust and this hitch has passed Chrysler's extensive road testing for durability and strength. When towing, you must not exceed the rated tow capacity for your vehicle as stated in the owner's manual.

Perfect fit on 2021 Cherokee Trailhawk

This was a fairly easy job, just a little annoying getting underneath your vehicle. Most or all parts are bolt on, bolt off. I did have to remove a small piece of plastic trimming on the rear bumper to make the receiver fit correctly, but the cutout was already there so all I had to do was just pop it out.
I've had and used this receiver now for several months and have been consistently pulling approximately 1000lbs with zero issues. I just use it for a small 5'8' utility trailer and an ATV.
Shipping was also nice and quick, and everything was well packaged.
I would certainly buy this hitch receiver again if I ever needed another one.

The hitch wasn't any problem installing after I got the plastic bumper off which wasn't hard at all. The hitch fits perfectly and looks like a factory hitch.

I just installed this receiver on my 2016 Cherokee Latitude. It came with the receiver and bezel along with instructions. The biggest hassle with installation is getting the trim loose so you can get to the screws.
One missing item in the instructions is for those with ParkSense and the associated sensors. There is a large wiring harness on the driver's side that needs to be disconnected before trying to remove the fascia.
The bezel went in okay, but even with the templates it wasn't perfect. But it does the job.
The box came in pretty beat up, but after seeing how it was packed I'm not surprised.

As long as you have trim tools this install will take no time. Did mine in about 1 hour. You do need rivets though. I used the tri-fold exploding rivets. They are just like the ones from Jeep.

The hitch I purchased was good! The only complaint I have is that when I received it the box was pretty beat up and after installing it I noticed the hitch had some chips and scratches.

I really didn't expect any issues since this was a factory mopar hitch. Sneaking the old bumper out without removing all the fascia took a little effort but other than that, 8 bolts, two wire clips, and slip the new hitch right in. Was nice for something to be easy for a change. Wiring, well that's a story for another day. Too bad Fiat is so cheap that they couldn't just pre wire the jeep like other manufacturers do.

Also ordered Hitch Box Cover Part #8221370 as it was not listed as being part of the Hitch package but it was included. I would like to return it but do not want to pay shipping. I believe I should get a call ticket in order to return the Hitch Cover Box. It was a hard install (never did one before) but in the end it was well worth it.

This is the same hitch that mopar/dealer sells just less expensive. It was a simple installation. There are videos of installing this with 2 piece bumper covers and 1 piece. With the 1 piece it takes a little longer with taking the rear bumper cover down. It's alot of clips and a few screws in tight spots. Took me about 2 hrs total to install.

Watch this video from you tube for even faster hitch install. "Installing Mopar Trailer Hitch Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk 2014+" after that video, i didnt need the instructions. The hitch looks fantastic. Better than i thought and i dont have the custom bezel. If i can scrape up the 70 bux i may buy it just to have it. I also installed the wiring kit and our jeep panels all just snapped off. Easy peasy. Buy a panel removal tool, to pop the panels up and not ruin the clips. Love the look of these 2 items. Less than 4 hr install time. Highly recomended.

Look on utube for abbreviated install procedures, I was able to get it done in 1.5-2 hours by myself. Ordering and delivery were spot on. 4 stars becsue we haven't used it for towing yet.

Should come stock, but this add on fit well. Had to remove bumper fascia entirely to get it to work and used aftermarket lighting harness rather than pay 300 at dealer. Would recommend.

The hitch was exactly right for my vehicle. It arrived as expected and was fairly easy to install. The only complaint is that one of the bolt holes was messed up so it was a challenge to install that bolt.

The bumper change out was super easy. I watched a few YouTube videos before I ordered it, I knew not to use the instructions that came with it. I was surprised I had to by a 5 1/4" drop down to tow our Razor with a 2016 Cherokee Trailhawk.

Literally took me an hour, by myself, and that included the shower afterwards! Came with most of the parts you'll require (minus wiring). Instruction were pretty useless to me and hard to read, but after a YouTube video, I'm now and expert! ;-) would very much recommend!

It took me less than an hour to pull the rear bumper shroud, remove the stock piece and install the hitch and replace the shroud. Saved hundreds of dollars over quote from local Jeep dealership!

DO NOT try to follow the installation instructions that come with this Hitch Receiver. There is a much easier way to do it.
