Shouldn't have to pay for this to be replaced but I did

This is a known issue and part of my trim finally failed. I could have gotten it replaced for free at the dealer but after a terrible experience where some techs tried to do burnouts in my vehicle I religiously do all of my own maintenance. It was fairly easy to install and looks great. It might be psychosomatic but the new part feels slightly heavier than the original. Let's hope this is the only trim piece that fails.
